The Government is pumping the brakes on its timeline for major highway projects, with Chris Bishop admitting today that National's 2023 election promises were "very ambitious". An updated pipeline of the Government's 17 Roads of National Significance shows only four are currently under construction, while others are still subject to funding availability.
