Masked Out - Autism Masking Film Teaser Trailer

Hi everyone, I have been working on a short film at university. I am finished with it and I have published a teaser trailer. I aim to tell a story about an autistic person masking their traits and then suddenly introducing them to an empty space where they don’t have to mask. Masking behaviours in autistic people is often done to appear ‘neurotypical’ and to fit in with societal norms. They often do this to avoid showing Autism spectrum traits in fear of being judged, shamed, embarrassed and feared by other neurotypical people. Masking can also be quite exhausting and can lead to burn out and high levels of stress.
