Description

The Stainmore, Shap & Eden Valley route add-on features an extensive network of railway lines in the northwest of England, including - but not being limited to - the line from Barnard Castle to Tebay (going over Stainmore Summit), as well as a section of the West Coast Mainline between Burton Holme and Penrith (going over Shap Summit). Most of the lines depicted in this add-on, including the Stainmore Railway itself, closed down in the 1960s. In addition to the extensive route coverage, this add-on also includes a big selection of steam locomotives and rolling stock, so I can understand why the add-on is priced as high as it is. I didn't have this route for the longest time, but in December 2025, it was unexpectedly gifted to me free-of-charge by Kris from Caledonia Works; special thanks to him for his generosity.
