🌪️ SEVERE WEATHER OUTLOOK – Monday, June 1, 2026 (11:29AM CDT Update) SPC Risk Level: SLIGHT (Level 2 of 5) Valid through June 1, 2026 12:00 AM CDT Monday 📍 Major Cities in Risk Zones 🟡 SLIGHT Risk: Wichita, KS, Springfield, MO, Little Rock, AR, Memphis, TN 🌪️ Tornado Risk Zones Greeley, CO...Garden City, KS...Evans, CO...Black Forest, CO...Scottsbluff, NE... 📝 Overview Thunderstorms with large hail and severe wind gusts are expected this afternoon and evening across parts of the central Plains. Scattered to numerous strong to severe wind gusts will also be possible from the Ozarks southeastward into parts of the Southeast. An ongoing MCS is moving southeastward through the Mid-South, with transient updraft strength and brief intensifications expected. Additional storms are forecast to develop farther west during the afternoon from south-central Missouri into northern Arkansas, supported by strong buoyancy with MLCAPE values near 4000 J/kg. Weak shear will limit storm organization, favoring an outflow-dominant, multicellular mode capable of damaging winds and isolated hail. In the High Plains, scattered thunderstorms will develop by mid-afternoon from southeast Wyoming into central Colorado foothills. Strong deep-layer shear supports supercells capable of large hail early on, transitioning to bowing segments with damaging wind gusts. Some upscale growth into an organized MCS is possible this evening as low-level moisture increases. ⛈️ Hazards Include 🧊 Large hail (up to very large hail possible with early supercells) 💨 Widespread damaging wind gusts, including isolated gusts over 65 kt 🌪️ Isolated tornadoes not expected due to limited shear and organization 🕓 Timeline 12 PM–3 PM CDT: Thunderstorm initiation in High Plains and central Plains 3 PM–8 PM CDT: Peak threat of severe hail and damaging winds across central Plains and Mid-South 8 PM–12 AM CDT: Storms weaken while spreading southward into central Mississippi and Alabama 📌 Regional Notes 🟡 Central Plains → KS, MO: Large hail and damaging wind gusts expected this afternoon 🟡 Mid-South → AR, TN: Strong to severe gusts with transient storm intensification 🟡 High Plains → WY, CO: Supercells with large hail early, transitioning to bowing segments ⚠️ Stay Weather-Aware Residents in Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, and Tennessee should remain alert for rapidly changing severe weather conditions this afternoon and evening. While tornadoes are not anticipated, damaging wind gusts and large hail pose significant threats. Stay tuned to local forecasts and be prepared to take shelter if warnings are issued. ——————————— In-Vehicle Driver, Man-of-Action - @ReedTimmerWx Navigator, Man-of-Music - @localmanweatherofficial Engineer, Man-of-Iron - @willclay25 Studio Guy in the corner - @brianvotoole, but he doesn't really post anything. he's just laying in the cut, you know?
