Israel-US Iran War: Trump To Stop Attacks On Iran, Claims Tehran Is 'Begging' For A Deal | Breaking hile addressing the media from the White House on March 31, 2026, US President Donald Trump talked about how securing the Strait of Hormuz is 'not for us' as he estimated the U.S. will be done attacking Iran in 2 to 3 weeks. Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Trump said that the US will not have anything to do with' what happens in the Strait of Hormuz, instead telling reporters that the responsibility for keeping the vital waterway open would belong with countries that rely on it. Despite repeatedly listing four or five objectives for the war, Trump said he had one goal: They will have no nuclear weapon, and that goal has been attained.” He did not explain how he felt he had reached the goal. He said the U.S. may strike a deal with Iran before the next few weeks are up, but said, if not.
