Description
We rescued our rabbit a few months ago when her owner had to move and could not take her to the new home.
At the end of November, I noticed a brown discharge coming from her ear. I immediately took her to the vet that day. We had to use an exotic vet specialist as our vet, not any other “regular” vet clinics in our region treat rabbits.
The specialist prescribed antibiotic ear drops and pain meds. I purchased additional drops in early December in order to complete the full 14 day, 2X daily course of treatment.
At the end of January, I noticed our rabbit in pain and her usually “up” ears, had one down. I called the vet immediately on a Friday around 2-3pm. They stated that the specialist wasn’t in and I could schedule a call with her Monday. I explained that we would dispatch the rabbit if we had to wait 3.5-4 days for treatment. They accused me of being hasty and considering dispatching over “an ear issue”. I was livid. How dare they LEAVE OUR RABBIT UNTREATED AND IN PAIN when other vets at the clinic could have simply refilled her previous prescription!!!!!! See the conclusion in this video…
