Few people in the world can play the long string instrument. One of them is in Dallas

When James Talambas plays the long string instrument, he often imagines flying. The instrument is 60 feet long and features 44 bronze strings stretched between two wooden resonators. To play, Talambas becomes the bow. He slowly walks through the instrument, gliding his rosin-covered hands on the strings. “The instrument sounds like an instrument of the distant past and the future,” Talamblas said. “It sounds both acoustic and electronic at the same time.
