Does Trauma Cause This?

Trauma is a word that gets tossed around a good bit and hoarding disorder is still a very misunderstood in the culture today. What I do know from doing this type of work for 7 years now is that all the clients I have worked with didn’t just wake up one day and decide to start living in extreme clutter. I think thats thing that erks me the most is when people just think they are “lazy” This is the manifestation of years of neglect, abuse and unaddressed mental health problems. I would encourage you to truly stop and listen to the stories of those in situations like this and put yourself in the shoes of a trauma survivor. Life on the other is not always easy but meaningful change can and will happen for you and your loved ones.
