Far from addressing the questions raised by Senator Roberts, Labor minister Tony Burke seemed more intent on deflecting blame onto the previous Coalition government. He pointed out that 40 ISIS fighters returned to Australia under the previous Coalition government. Unacceptable as this is, as the minister at the committee, he really ought to have been focused on answering Senator Roberts’ questions. As it was, the questions asked, which represented the concerns shared by millions of Aussies, were left largely unanswered.
