This video is about the reality of the Northeast that many people refuse to see. The viral video claiming "Northeast people are sh*t" and the recent incident in Malviya Nagar, Delhi—where sisters from Arunachal Pradesh were racially abused and harassed—show a side of India that we need to fix. Having traveled to 55 countries, I’ve seen how outsiders are treated, but seeing this happen to our own citizens in our own capital is heartbreaking. I’m not just speaking as a traveler; I’m speaking as someone who chose to settle in Guwahati and build a life here because the people in the Northeast are truly the best in India. My fiancée is from this region, and I’ve seen firsthand the kindness and culture that define these states. When people use racial slurs or "momo" as an insult, they aren't just being "funny"—they are attacking the dignity of my neighbors, my friends, and my family. The Northeast is the pride of our country, not a target for casual racism. We need to stop treating our own people like strangers in their own land. Let’s stop the hate and start showing the respect that this region and its people deserve.
