Description
Quebec auditor general Christine Roy says millions of tax dollars have been lost on the CAQ government's investments in electric battery startups.
Combing through the books, Roy concluded Quebec has injected a total of $2.2 billion into the dream of becoming an international electric battery player since October 2020, but many of those ventures soured.
Of 11 projects audited, $676 million went into four companies that today are under bankruptcy protection: Northvolt, Lion Electric, Taiga Motors and Recyclage Lithion.
