Stump Grinding On Another Level

There’s nothing worse than an unexpected stump But I’ve got just the solution… I just borrowed this stump grinder attachment for my Ventrac. It has a large 22” rotary wheel with 18 heavy duty carbide teeth. This thing tears into a stump like it owes it money. I just start at one edge of the stump and make passes driving forwards and backwards. I stop and pick up any rocks I see because they can damage the teeth. This is one of those jobs that’s really rewarding to do- it’s fun to watch the stump disappear. The grinder is driven by the PTO from the tractor’s engine- so it’s got all kinds of power. Because this stump grinder attachment is offset on the front of the tractor, I can see exactly what I’m doing. It even comes with a material blade that you can lower down with the hydraulics to clear away all the wood chips. This is fun- it’s like running a little dozer. Now here’s the thing, the New Guy has been late to work three days in a row, so I told him he had to stay late and clean up all the chips- I don’t care how long it takes.
