Tracking rain, strong thunderstorm chances: Cleveland area weather forecast

The 3News Weather Team is tracking heavy rain and potential severe thunderstorms beginning late Tuesday afternoon through early Wednesday morning. A Weather Impact Alert is in effect from 3 p.m. Tuesday through 4 a.m. Wednesday morning. Scattered heavy rain and stronger thunderstorms are possible late Tuesday afternoon through early Wednesday morning. Heavy rain and thunderstorms will slide in off of Lake Erie in our northern-most counties during the Tuesday PM rush. More scattered rain and thunderstorms will slide in as well later in the evening and overnight. Damaging winds and large hail are the primary threats from any severe storms. Also heavy rain could cause brief flash flooding.
