Millions of New Yorkers filled the "Canyon of Heroes" on Lower Broadway to, creating a blizzard of paper and confetti as MacArthur, alongside Mayor Impellitteri, waved to the adoring crowds from his limousine. This historic event, one of the city’s most spectacular parades, showcased the immense public admiration for the general and remains one of New York's most memorable celebrations.
