The fastest minds and hands built machines for standing-mile competition… but when the weekends came, the real proving grounds were the streets. They needed a way to test their machines — but without access to a sanctioned facility, they took to the streets. The safest road they had access to allowed for racing 9/10ths of a mile, They discovered that a rolling 9/10ths of a mile run would closely replicate standing-mile times. That’s where the 9/10ths was born… A stretch of asphalt. A marked start point. Rolling in at 30 miles per hour, and unleashing everything they had until the 9/10ths marker. In the late ’90s, the quickest bikes were already breaking 180 miles an hour. As technology pushed forward, records shattered — some now topping an unbelievable 240 mph in just 9/10ths of a mile. To get there, it wasn’t just about who makes the most horsepower… every ounce mattered. Mirrors and Brake rotors removed, lightweight panels, shaving any and all weight. Some even left protective gear behind, sacrificing comfort and safety to reduce aero drag. For more than 25 years, they’ve hunted tenths of a second and a mile per hour at a time… inching closer to the limits of man and machine. Every Sunday, they return to the streets, a tradition they call “church” to keep pushing the envelope. Legendary teams like PGR Tuned, Certified, and Samedi Racing have become the pace-setters, inspiring rivals to match their intensity. Word spread beyond Florida. Soon, challengers from across the country came to test themselves against Miami’s best. What started as a local fight for bragging rights has grown into a nationwide phenomenon. And even in the heat of competition, there’s a mutual respect— each team driving the other to go faster, farther, and risk more.
