Footage captured by a holidaymaker shows thick plumes of smoke rising near a beach in Puerto Vallarta. Gang violence flared as authorities confirmed that Mexico's most wanted man and leader of the feared Jalisco New Generation (CJNG) drug cartel had died during a security operation to apprehend him. Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, known as 'El Mencho', was killed while being transported to Mexico City, after sustaining serious injuries during clashes between his supporters and the army.
