Robert Aramayo wins BAFTA, but director did not ask him to audition for I Swear

British actor Robert Aramayo has been crowned best actor at the 79th British Academy Film Awards for his performance in I Swear, also collecting the EE Rising Star award. The 33-year-old, who grew up in Hull, appeared visibly emotional as he accepted the leading actor prize for his portrayal of Scottish Tourette syndrome campaigner John Davidson. “I honestly cannot believe that I have won this award,” he said.
