Description

I had the chance to train with the first team of MVV Maastricht for a full in-season session — as an amateur goalkeeper. In this video, I test myself at professional level to see how an amateur keeper holds up between full-time pros. No highlights-only edit, no excuses — you’ll see everything: the intensity, the mistakes, the tempo, and the reality of training in a pro environment. The session was led by goalkeeper coach Gerry Oste (aka Gecko) and consisted of roughly 80% goalkeeper-specific work and 20% training game. The focus was heavily on endurance, stamina, and technical execution, all at a very high tempo — which turned out to be the biggest challenge of the day. There’s no commentary and no subtitles. What you see is exactly what happened on the pitch. ⚽ What this video shows Training with a professional first-team squad High-tempo goalkeeper drills (endurance, footwork, technique) Real in-season intensity A training match situation Mistakes included — not just highlights 🧠 Why I made this video I create goalkeeper content and regularly train with professionals, not because I want to turn pro, but because I’m curious — and because many people wonder: How big is the gap between amateur and professional football? This video is my honest attempt to answer that question. 🧤 Gear & discount I’m wearing uhlsport goalkeeper gloves.
