2026 Fire Season Water Bombing Aircraft Media Demonstration

On the 7th of January 2026, A number of water bombing aircraft participated in a media demonstration at the Tasmania Police Academy located at Rokeby for this upcoming bush fire season. Tasmania has received 15 firefighting aircraft including 6 fixed wing water bombers and 8 Helicopters from the National Aerial Firefighting Centre to tackle the upcoming bushfire season with a response time of 15 minutes.
