Description
A discussion about turbine blade thermal barrier coatings and their sensitivity to contamination. As a bonus, we start the video off with a contest you could win...
Contest was won in less than 12 hours!
The interesting thing about all 3 scenes was there were matching or near matching parts, but they were for different engines.
1: Front stages of an LM2500 compressor rotor, and parts of the variable stator vane system from an LM1500 next to it.
2: Front stages of another LM2500 compressor rotor, with one first stage blade from an LM1500 next to it. I tried, and it would not fit.
3: The unbladed compressor rotor of another LM2500 sitting next to the compressor cases of an LM1500.
