‘The question isn’t military victory, it’s what comes next’: US-Iran conflict explained

Iran politics and defence expert Benham Ben Taleblu speaks on US President Donald Trump's motive for the ongoing war in Iran. “We can't divorce this conflict from the larger rationale the President had throughout the month of January, which was trying to find a way to respond to the most violently repressed protests in the history of the Islamic Republic,” Mr Taleblu told Sky News Australia. “I think it would be unwise for the US to actually disconnect the dots between the threat the Islamic Republic poses to its own citizens, as well as to US security. “The big question for me is not can America and Israel win militarily, it's what will they do politically after.”
