Protection matters. But if protection is the only goal, our kids never learn how to stand back up. There’s a season when we cover them closely, watch every step, and stay ready to catch them. That’s good parenting. That’s love. But as they grow, protection has to slowly give way to preparation. Because one day, they’ll fall and we won’t be close enough to grab them. So we teach them how to get back up. How to try again. How to read a room. How to build strong faith in God. How to keep moving forward. The goal isn’t to raise kids who never hit the ground. The goal is to raise kids who know what to do when they do.
