Monday Minute: President Reagan’s Recovery and First Speech

In this Monday Minute in the Archives, we look back at President Ronald Reagan's remarkable recovery after being shot on March 30, 1981. Just 12 days later, he returned to the White House and, by April 28, delivered his first public speech to Congress. During his recovery, he received heartfelt get-well cards, including a handmade one from Lakeside Middle School.
