Wanderings at the Agia Solomoni Catacomb & the Wishing Tree of Paphos In this wandering we explore the rock-cut chambers that once served as ancient tombs and later became a Christian chapel. We step down into the quiet rock-cut chambers, now mostly bare but still carrying the sense of age and devotion. The cool interior, once home to a spring and painted frescoes, now shows only traces of its long history — yet the atmosphere of the place remains unmistakably sacred. Above ground we visit the famous “Wishing Tree”, draped in ribbons and strips of cloth left by visitors in hopes of healing and good fortune.
