Description

A bit of fun. 4:20 – love Mum eating a grasshopper while Junior is right up her chuff screaming for food. I catch a couple of grasshoppers while watering and give them to Mum and – sadly off camera, one for Junior. Quick explanation – I call all of the juvenile male magpies “Junior”. They won't be staying very long and I don't want to get attached. It's a rotating cast and given the way this breeding season has gone it's great they have any chicks at all. I'm open to suggestions on the young lass... She's much less shy than the lady last year. Actually she's the second least shy chick ever right after the current Junior. Mum flew onto the balcony the other day and the young lady came with her. It took her a second to realise I was five feet away and she bailed (Mum was closer to me) but it's a good sign. You gotta love Australian magpies... Cheers folks! If you'd like to support the channel you can buy me a coffee: https://buymeacoffee.com/mybackyardyt
