Our Truck Home Was Perfect, Until We Weighed It (Part 2) In Part 2, our half-finished truck home finally starts looking like the real thing, right up until one number nearly stops us cold. After rescuing our dead wiring and cutting that oversized mattress down to size, we get to work on the interior. We build a full-height storage cabinet across the back wall, finish the wood paneling that divides the space into real rooms, and add custom wood cabinets with heavy-duty soft-close struts so nothing rattles loose on the road. Up top, a full run of kitchen cabinets gives us all the storage we need. Then come the finishing touches that bring it to life: rooftop solar panels for off-grid power, a swing-out TV, and all the little details that make it feel like home.
