Western media is back at one of its favorite games when it comes to China coverage: creative word play. Over the weekend, news came out of China that two top military officials have been placed under investigation for serious violations including corruption, a very serious charge that would literally cripple US politics if taken seriously there. But instead of calling it what it is, Western media prefers to use dramatic and loaded language. Case in point, the word “purge”. Why are they doing that? I will tell you the answer.
