The five North American river otters in our care, which we proudly celebrate today, will soon be splashing into their brand-new habitat at your Toronto Zoo’s new Community Conservation Centre 🦦 Located at the Zoo’s front entrance, this historic project and centre will feature not only a stunning new home for the River otters, but also classrooms, laboratories, Indigenous learning spaces, conservation programming, and a new home for the Blanding’s turtle headstarting program 💚 Listen to this construction update from Ben Knoop, Senior Project Manager, and hear about the transformation happening right at your front gates.
