When a concerned member of the public reported a severely underweight mare and her foal, immediate action was needed. Sharon was suffering — emaciated, unwell and struggling to cope as winter approached. Her foal, Ozzy, depended entirely on her, pushing her already fragile body even further. In this video, follow their journey from the initial welfare report through to Sharon and Ozzy’s rescue and arrival at World Horse Welfare Hall Farm. You’ll see how vital early intervention, veterinary care and a dedicated team of grooms, vets, farriers and welfare officers are in giving horses like Sharon and Ozzy a second chance. Now safe at our rescue and rehoming centre, Sharon is receiving all the love, care and regular veterinary checks she needs. While she is still in poor condition, she is finally in a place of safety, together with her foal — with hope for recovery and the possibility of a brighter future.
