Though I have flourished in recent years by embracing my trans identity, acceptance—especially from my mother—was difficult. Everywhere I Look became an attempt to confront the fear of losing her and to process the grief surrounding our relationship. The filmmaking process allowed me to forge a new connection with my mother through memory, documenting both the pain and the love we shared.
