Detectives have charged three men after foiling an alleged organised crime hit in Sydney’s south-west yesterday afternoon, under Strike Force Flodine.
Strike Force Flodine is an investigation by State Crime Command’s Organised Crime Squad into serious and organised crime across Sydney.
During a routine surveillance operation in the Condell Park area on Tuesday 7 October 2025, detectives identified three men mobilising to carry out an offence. Assistance was sought from the Tactical Operations Unit, Pol Air, Dog Squad and State Intelligence Command. About 3.50pm, two vehicles were subsequently stopped on The River Road at Revesby. From one car, police arrested two men – aged 18 and 19. A third 26-year-old man was arrested in a second car nearby. During a search of the cars, police located and seized two firearms, balaclavas, body worn cameras, and jerry cans containing fuel. A third firearm was located during subsequent searches of vehicles and premises allegedly linked to the men. They were taken to Bankstown Police Station, where the younger men were charged with conspiracy to commit murder, possess unauthorised pistol, be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner, participate in a criminal group and breaching bail. The older man was charged with conspiracy to commit murder and participate in a criminal group. The were refused bail to appear in Bankstown Local Court, where police will allege the men were en route to attempt a hit on a man in the vicinity of a daycare centre in Sydney’s south-west. State Crime Commander, Assistant Commissioner Scott Cook, praised the work of detectives for their interdiction.
“This was a calculated and coordinated intervention that stopped what we will allege was a planned killing nearby a daycare centre – a deeply concerning scenario,” Assistant Commissioner Cook said.
“This outcome reflects the strength of our intelligence capabilities and the precision of our surveillance operations. These individuals were being watched, and we moved at the right moment.
“Strike Force Flodine is part of State Crime Command’s broader strategy to dismantle organised crime networks operating across Sydney, and these arrests are that strategy in action.
“We remain committed to protecting the community from serious and organised crime, especially when it threatens everyday spaces where families expect to feel safe.”
Investigations under Strike Force Flodine continue.
