Description
Breezy trade winds will continue across Hawaiʻi through the first half of next week as high pressure remains north of the islands. Typical windward and mauka showers are expected, especially during the overnight and early morning hours, with occasional increases in rainfall as pockets of moisture move through. Trade winds may weaken during the second half of next week as a front passing north of the state shifts the high-pressure system eastward.
In the Eastern Pacific, Tropical Storm Amanda continues west-southwest of Baja California. The National Hurricane Center is also monitoring two areas for possible tropical development: a broad low-pressure system off southern Mexico with a 70% chance of development over the next seven days, and another low-pressure area offshore of Central America with a 60% chance of development. Both systems could bring heavy rainfall to parts of Mexico and Central America regardless of tropical cyclone formation. Brittni Friedlander has your full forecast on Wake Up 2Day.
