Child Care Subsidy

Child Care Subsidy helps with the cost of approved child care. It’s paid directly to your child care service to reduce the fees you pay. If you are eligible for Child Care Subsidy the amount you can get depends on: • your family’s income • the type of child care you use • the age and number of children you have in care • the hours of paid or unpaid work, study, training or other recognised participation types that you and your partner do, or • if you have an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander child in your care. Additional Child Care Subsidy may also be available for some families, including. grandparents and great grandparents who are primary carers, families moving from an income support payment to work, those experiencing temporary financial hardship, and families caring for a child who is vulnerable or at risk.
