"Slum in Paradise" - a pet macaque in El Nido, Palawan island

On the north of Palawan island, Philippines, El Nido is a paradise destination for tourists. However, a slum is developing on the outskirt of the small city, at the base of the cliff surrounding it. There, some children inhabitants showed me a local pet longtailed macaque as I was looking for wild ones around. It belongs to Macaca fascicularis philippensis, darker subspecies than the most common longtailed macaque. Filmed by C. Abegg in 2011.
