Description

https://buymeacoffee.com/g0ojf After servicing this flgship 1981 set, it was time to test it. These were sold as 3.5W radios. This one is doing 2.9W, which is in spec. Recorded 6th July 2026 Mr Chippie drove along our usual 6-mile test route, the 'wrong side' of a hill. He stopped at the five mile point to test this set as a static test. The radio was set for 2.9W for full power & 0.18W (180mW) on low power. The internal electret mike was used throughout, but a Uniden external mike wire Realistic was used through to the base station at the end. The 'proper' factory original optional hand mike has been shown & demonstrated by me before. Our continued thanks to Thunderpole for kindly supplying the T3000 radio (and new mike) which is fitted to the test vehicle at no cost to us. This is the sole reason for the 'paid promotion' marker on this video. Richard, G0OJF Richard, 2E0FKC (Mr. Chippie) Lincolnshire, UK [email protected] Ebay stuff https://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/g0ojf
