A rage bait so iconic it was 4 years in the making… Last night, Cristiano Ronaldo received his first-ever red card for Portugal after elbowing Ireland centre back Dara O’Shea. Their rivalry actually began in 2021, when O’Shea kicked the ball away just before Ronaldo was set to take his penalty kick, which he went on to miss. Do you think this was a red card for Ronaldo? 🧐🇵🇹 According to Piers Morgan, it most certainly was not. The reason? Lionel Messi does the same thing, and it’s almost never called… However, after looking closer I have noticed a very subtle difference. When Messi gets angry, he typically pushes primarily with his body, which in soccer is legal. When Ronaldo gets angry, he leads leads with his elbow/arms — as was the case last night vs Ireland.
