2026 Mazda CX-5 lacks new powertrain | First Drive | Driving.ca

#MazdaCX5 #firstdrive #SUVreview The 2026 Mazda CX-5 is the all-new, third generation of the best-selling crossover, and one that introduces a whole host of new technologies, the majority of which pertain to the infotainment system. The all-wheel drive Mazda CX-5 is a favourite with families, and the automaker did extensive research into customer feedback when designing this all-new, third generation model. Apparently, existing CX-5 customers are happy with the Skyactiv-G 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine and six-speed automatic transmission, as apart from some tweaks it remains the sole powertrain choice. There are three drive modes — Normal, Sport and Off-Road drive modes — that optimize the performance of that transmission and AWD system for varying driving conditions. Apart from the new onboard tech. the big news is that the 2026 CX-5 is longer, wider and taller than the previous model.
