On @CTVYourMorning, Canadian journalist Michelle Shephard talks about her recent visit to the Sudan–Chad border with Doctors Without Borders teams. There, she met Sudanese refugees who shared their stories of survival amid the ongoing crisis. “The attackers actually were posting the killings and posting on social media. If we didn't have the story of the survivors... if we didn't have satellite images, we wouldn't know about [the mass atrocities in El Fasher] at all," says Shephard. #Sudan is facing a dire situation, with nearly 12 million people displaced since the conflict began. Civilians continue to bear the brunt of violence and sexual violence is widespread. Our teams are treating people with serious injuries and providing medical care in crowded camps where many lack basic necessities.
