Bedford Orthopaedic Hospital in ‘dilapidated’ state

A former patient at Bedford Orthopaedic Hospital in Mthatha, Eastern Cape, says the facility is in a dilapidated state. This comes after staff and patients sounded the alarm over worn-out infrastructure and overcrowding. Nursing union Denosa has called out the provincial health department for failing to resolve the challenges. Meanwhile, the department says it has acquired funding for renovation.
