Description
The NHL officiating has been and seems to always be a major topic of discussion especially in the Playoffs. Yet somehow, every year it seems fans complain they have only gotten worse. This 2025 playoffs, has certainly seen its fair share of inconsistencies with the NHL officiating. Last night in game 5 of the Winnipeg Jets vs St.Louis Blues, we saw Mark Scheifele take a big hit from Brayden Schenn that was called only a 2 minute minor. However, with after Scheifele took another hit a little after in the period from Faksa, he was officially ruled out of the game. He will also not be playing in game 6. Many compared the hit to THE hit Matthew Tkachuk laid on Jake Guentzel which received a 5 minute major. So why did this hit not even get looked at? Scott Arniel claimed the hit from Schenn was also where Scheifele was injured, while Jim Montgomery disputed the claim with the drama in this series ramping up again. Regardless of where you are with this hit, undisputedly the officiating has been bad both ways. There were several missed calls in this game, and we have seen countless examples of no calls throughout this series. I cover that and more in todays NHL hockey video!
