Whatley wins GOP U.S. Senate primary in North Carolina

Michael Whatley, the former Republican National Committee chair, delivered a victory speech Tuesday evening after winning the GOP nomination for North Carolina’s U.S. Senate seat.   “Tonight, North Carolina did not just choose a nominee — you chose a direction,” he told supporters. “Tonight is not the end of a campaign, tonight is the beginning of a movement.”
