The four-year-old monkey, named Choke, pounced on Ekkarat Srichan, biting his torso and puncturing his lung. The youth was rushed to hospital at Nakhon Si Thammarat on June 6 but later died from his injuries. The boy's grandfather, Jaroon Srichan, released the primate into nearby woodland after the attack. Police and wildlife rangers scoured the area before capturing the aggressive monkey with tranquiliser darts. Authorities said they would coordinate with park officials to transfer the animal to a wildlife facility.
