Smotrich says Israel can use White House support to block Palestinian state

Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said Israel should exploit what he called a "window of opportunity" under a supportive White House administration and Israel’s right-wing government to "de facto kill" the idea of a Palestinian state. Speaking during Channel 14’s Sovereignty Committee, Smotrich also called for Israeli settlement in Gaza, saying the territory should be settled as part of expanding 'Israeli sovereignty'.
