Honda of the Bronx reaches $130K settlement after overcharging customers

A Bronx car dealership has agreed to pay $130,000 after investigators say customers were overcharged. Officials announced that Honda of the Bronx reached a settlement with the New York City Department of Consumer and Worker Protection following an investigation into its sales practices. According to the settlement, the dealership admitted to more than 350 violations of consumer protection laws. Authorities say many customers were charged more than the advertised price, with records showing 24 out of 35 vehicles reviewed were sold above listed prices. Investigators say customers were overcharged by an average of more than $2,800 per vehicle. The settlement includes civil penalties paid to the city along with restitution returned to affected customers. Officials also say the dealership failed to provide required disclosures and other consumer protections during some transactions.
