Ancient ocean floor fossilised with footprints (trace fossils)

Kamen and Tyler tipped me off about an incredible spot where fossilised ocean floor can be found and I couldn’t wait to check it out. I headed out to the location and it didn’t disappoint. Not only did I find two amazing pieces of ancient seabed, but I also came across my best preserved fossil nautiloid yet! Back at home, I take one of the trace fossils and make a silicone mould, before casting it in plaster of Paris. The final result really brings out the detail in a way you just don’t see in the rock.
