Woman Pulls Gun Inside Police Station Lobby

* (Disclaimer: The content in this video is intended for educational and informational purposes only) Scottsdale, Arizona — On April 30, 2026, at about 9:45 a.m., an adult woman entered the front lobby of the McKellips Police Station located at 7601 E. McKellips Rd. While in the lobby, the suspect, identified as 23-year-old Eva Josefina Garcia, pointed a gun at the station police aide, who then alerted other employees that there was an armed person in the lobby. While officers were responding to the lobby, Garcia pointed the gun at another citizen in the lobby, who was there for other police business. Responding officers entered the lobby, giving loud, direct verbal commands to the suspect to drop the gun. When officers began to enter the lobby, Garcia raised the gun toward the officers. In response to the threat of an innocent citizen, one officer shot Garcia. Once the woman fell to the ground and dropped the handgun, officers rushed to secure her and render first aid until she could be transported to the hospital for her injuries. Garcia remains under protective custody at the hospital. No citizens or Scottsdale Police employees were injured during the incident.
