The Sub-Mission on Agricultural Mechanization (SMAM) is transforming Indian agriculture by expanding access to modern farm machinery and technologies. The scheme strengthens mechanization infrastructure through subsidies, Custom Hiring Centres, Farm Machinery Banks, and Hi-Tech Hubs across the country. Targeted support for small and marginal farmers, women, and underserved regions is making mechanization more inclusive and accessible. By promoting precision technologies and reducing labour drudgery, SMAM is enhancing productivity and advancing sustainable, technology-driven agricultural growth.
