iPhone 17e — Good… Until It Isn’t

The iPhone 17e feels like a clean, light, compact iPhone with strong basics, good battery life, reliable Face ID, and a display that still looks polished indoors. MagSafe finally arrives on the e series, making daily charging much nicer, while the A19 chip keeps everyday performance fast and smooth. At the same time, some compromises are hard to ignore. The 60Hz panel feels dated, outdoor brightness is less competitive, and the single-camera setup limits flexibility. Portraits are still good, but iPhone 16 looks more complete in several areas.
