Description

After attempting Marion County, AL's siren test, @CentralALSirens and I continued on out to Memphis, TN, to get their weekly siren test since the weather was definitely favorable for them to test. We decided to head for this 8 RPM Thunderbolt 1000 on top of Oakhaven High School as I'd been wanting to get it, and James wanted to get another Thunderbolt 1000 as well. Thankfully, we were able to get here with plenty of time to spare, and, while we were waiting, @AmericanSirenProductions and his girlfriend wound-up joining us at this siren for the test as well! About one minute after 3:30, this siren fired-on up and did a little over a minute of alert! Definitely nice to get another Memphis 'bolt recorded, even if this one has been filmed before. Also nice to get a fourth Thunderbolt 1000 siren and another 8 RPM 'bolt shot as well. I also love how the roof vent on the right just barely fits under the siren's horn too, lol. Apparently this one's serial indicates it was originally a 1000T as well, so no doubt this one's chopper was swapped at some point like many, if not most, of the other 'bolts around Memphis. During and shortly after the siren test, you can hear a nearby Whelen 2909 just to our northeast doing a little over a minute of wail as well. If you listen closely after this siren winds-down as well, you can just faintly hear the ASC RM-135 siren at the BNSF railyard that @madisoncountysirens4295 and I filmed back in April finishing-up its weekly test as well! I will admit, it was also kinda neat being able to get both a single-tone Model 2 and a single-tone Thunderbolt sounding off for tests on the same day, NGL. Memphis, TN's sirens are tested every Wednesday at 3:30 PM, *very strictly* weather permitting.
