The combination of living plants and flowers reminded me of a French/English floral designs called Pot-et-fleur. I think that over many generations of trading with the English, French, Dutch, Arabs, to name but a few, they have all influence the styles of designs, thus the fusion of styles noted along my journey.
Things to gather:
- Classic shallow footed urn – black or rustic coloured
- Gnarly mossy covered bare branch
- Camelia flowers
- Rocks
- Moss mounds, mat etc
- Flowers of japonica – bright red
- Smallish living plant – fern, anthurium
